We are experienced in the arts of quality vacation and nature crafting
When we met, Peter was an innkeeper in the White Mountains of New Hampshire. Co-managing the inn reinforced Peter's appreciation of the amenities people value when traveling, adding to the appreciation he already had from his own extensive travels throughout the United States and Europe.
Joy had traveled in Europe and camped across the United States, and then together we visited Australia and New Zealand. We’ve since continued our love of travel with our own children, and developed a deep appreciation for detail, and for what guests appreciate. We've extended these qualities to our rental cottages in Acadia National Park as well as here on our hobby farm in Maine – check out our Acadia Seaside Cottages if you decide to head further Down East to explore Maine.
What makes the Guest House feel like home?
We find that it's not only an outstanding setting and quality, clean accommodations that our guests appreciate, but also the little niceties that make traveling more convenient — like the provision of night lights, coffee and tea, fresh linens, and a hair dryer – that all help to make your stay more comfortable, while reducing your travel burden. And no self-respecting Maine cottage would be complete without a lobster pot. We provide basic kitchen utensils, pots, pans, spices, and dishes, as well.
While we do work full time and live very active lives, we can provide suggestions of where to go and what to do — see some of our recommendations. You'll find we've got a very comprehensive Welcome Book with in-depth suggestions, as well, which you can peruse on arrival.
Maine Cottage Crafts support animal rescue
We're always happy to answer questions about equine rescue, organic gardening, or any other animals on the farm. In our relaxing evening hours, we’re often inspired to make handcrafts from findings in nature on the farm or our nearby beaches. Check out our Crafts of Maine Etsy Shop to help the horses while you also take home a unique memento of Maine.
Let us know how we can accommodate your vision for a comfortable stay at Moment's Peace Farm. Welcome!
