A treasured visitor to the farm this early spring was a barred owl. Wow, what a treat! So beautiful. So interesting to watch how her head rotates in that way only owls seem to be able to do – almost a full circle. And what an amazing, systematic huntress. She landed on the snow, and patiently sat, then worked a perfect circle — a pattern only the snow could reveal. Not until she emerged with a mouse did we understand she was working her process. Silent, mystical, and as old as time.
