Welcome to the Guest House at Moment's Peace Farm.
We are an organic hobby farm 25 minutes from the bustle of Portland, in an idyllic rural setting. We’re close to world-class dining, shopping, riverwalking and floating, river and ocean kayaking, ocean beaches, idyllic nature walks, professional theater, art and children museums, eclectic, artisan, and retail shopping, cultural events, islands, lakes, mountains — and even Boston, the Kennebunks, Freeport, The White Mountains, as well as within a few hours of Acadia National Park. All of that convenience, from a home base of peace, quiet, and privacy.
If you’re looking for a good, central location to explore Maine and come home to peace and quiet at night, this is a great place for you.
If you’d like to learn a bit about organic gardening — or even a bit about horse rescue — this is also a great place for you.
You’ll have rolling hills and forest outside your window, with a pastoral view of horses peacefully grazing, happily cohabitating with native deer, hawks, songbirds, heron, and an occasional eagle, fox, turkey or other wild visitor migrating or stopping by for a visit. Organic, free-range chickens are in the yard, and we keep an organic vegetable and fruit garden. You’re welcome to enjoy farm fresh eggs and vegetables in season.
The Guest House
The Guest House is detached from the main farmhouse, complete with all of its own privacy and amenities. You can explore country living right out your door, traipse or snowshoe around the open fields and into the woods. Enjoy a barbeque on your private deck, or a dip in the in-ground pool in the summertime. Or venture out to explore all that Portland, the Kennebunks, Southern Maine beaches, the White Mountains of New Hampshire, or the lakes of Western Maine have to offer -- all within 20 to 50 minutes of the Farm. We are centrally located to everything!
Moment's Peace Farm enjoys an idyllic setting just 15 miles west of Maine's largest city, convenient to major highways. Everyone who comes up the drive comments on "what a beautiful place" it is. Set on 80 acres of an original family homestead, there are 30 acres of open fields and 50 acres of woods.
Local riverside conservation area Indian Cellar is a stone’s throw from home, as is locally made ice cream in season at Big Daddy’s North, and Salmon Falls Country Club, with its 9-hole golf course and pub dining by the river.
